Toraya Tokyo Midtown Gallery 49th Exhibition "Wagashi and Manga
Comics are loved all over the world. While each region has fostered its own unique manga culture, such as comics and cartoon (satirical manga) in the English-speaking world, bandes ・ dessinées in the French-speaking world, and renkan-ga （ in the Chinese-speaking world, Japan is unique in having a broad fan base, regardless of age or gender.
In this exhibition, we will introduce manga works in which wagashi (Japanese confectionery) appears. The works are not only about wagashi, such as those set in wagashiya (Japanese confectionery shops), but also about wagashi that attract the reader's interest and make him or her want to try the confectionery. We have selected works that will make you feel "I want to try this confectionery! We hope you will rediscover the charm of wagashi through manga.
